The St George Shipwreck Museum has recently completed a fantastic renovation of their museum space. To enhance the experience of their guests they commissioned us at Interactive Imagination to design and build an exhibit that would educate, entertain and entice their visitors.
To this end we developed the Soundscape project, the idea behind the design was based on a simple concept, people love to touch and interact with the objects they’re examining. As the salvaged artefacts are fragile we scanned and created 3D printed replicas of each artefact in the display. Paired with the physical 3D artifacts we also developed an digital catalogue of all the artifacts where the user can view a picture of the actual artefact as well as read a detailed description for that particular artefact.
